It all depends on the situation. Sometimes, I would rather not hear the things I do. Standing in line at the grocery store, for instance, would be an excellent time to not overhear gossip. However, there are plenty of times when I need to be able to hear what is being said. As someone who is hard of hearing, this is not always easy to do. I got tired of not being able to hear my dining companions at a busy restaurant and not being able to hear the speaker at a meeting.
This could have been a big problem for me a few weeks ago when my company was having an important seminar. I knew I would have trouble hearing the speaker since there was to be several hundred people. However, what could have been a problem was not. I went to the seminar prepared, equipped with my Miracle Ear hearing aid.
I think that, for any situation, a person should be prepared. If you are hard of hearing, make sure you do what you need to in order to hear. If you have poor eyesight, make sure you wear your glasses. It is simple. There is no reason to go without, so I do not have to say what I could not hear. Instead, it is all about what I heard.
